The Prisoner List
A true story of defeat, captivity and salvation

He was half starved and unable to walk when he began to compile the prisoner list.
It started with only their names, but it grew into much more than that: a chilling catalogue of what had happened to the first thousand prisoners to be shipped into slavery after the fall of Singapore.
Most were now with him on the infamous Burma Railway. Others were still on the docks at Saigon. Many were dead.
If his Japanese captors had discovered what he was doing, his punishment would have been unthinkable.
Perhaps it was a mistake to hide it right under their noses.
